Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code Ryougi End
Spinoff Fighting Game based on Type-MOON's famous visual novel, Tsukihime. As a direct sequel to Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tohya, information technology is rather story-heavy, expanding the Canon considerably; a surprisingly large amount of content can be taken as correct interpretations of various characters' skills and abilities.
Start co-developed by Watanabe Production (now French-Bread) and Type-MOON and released for the PC, the game has gone through several iterations:
- Melty Claret: The original, with the first storyline (Story Way). Six playable characters with eight unlockable. Released in 2002.
- Re-Human activity: Introduced Arcade Mode (unique string of matches for each grapheme, and 2nd storyline), new movesets for doppelganger characters, and two new playable characters (Len, Satsuki). Released in 2004.
- Re-Act Final Tuned: Patch that upgraded the game to resemble the upcoming console port. Introduced a new, analog-friendly control scheme, multi-button commands, interface adjustments, and child-bearing color schemes.
- Act Cadenza: Arcade (subsequently console) port that, equally a result of its focus on the fighting attribute, took out Story Mode (the showtime storyline). Introduced two new playable characters (Aoko Aozaki, Kouma Kishima) and upgraded sprites. Released in 2006.
- Act Cadenza Version B: Update (subsequently PC port) that tweaked the controls to be a fleck more context-sensitive. Introduced Tag-Team Style, Four-Player Mode, the training dummy, White Len equally a playable grapheme, stat changes for many characters, and a hidden storyline for Neko-Arc Chaos that introduced a new subconscious dominate, known as Neko-Chaos Black G666, that when beaten unlocks a new fashion. Released in 2007.
- Actress Once more: Added new fighting styles (Crescent/Half/Total Moon) and moves, new Guard Meter, and two new playable characters (Roa and Riesbyfe). The console version gets three more characters: Shiki Ryougi, Akiha in her Seifuku outfit, and "Archetype World", a fully-powered, fully awoken Arcueid.
- Actress Once more Electric current Lawmaking: Essentially the PlayStation 2 version of Actress Again brought back to the Arcade with some slight tweaking. Among the differences: Different hardware (Sega RingWide instead of NAOMI), HQ2X Filtering on sprites, and some new visual effects, just aught else major. Recently updated to version 1.05 which adds i more than playable grapheme in the form of Powerd Ciel (yes, information technology's spelled that fashion, and the official term is Executioner Ciel). A final update has been released which includes a fully playable, non-broken version of Archetype Earth. A demo for the PC version is out now.
While it has fairly generic Fighting Game mechanics, what sets it apart is the atmosphere and the characters, who have powers rarely seen in Fighting Games in general.
- Life Meter: i for wellness (Concrete Force, yellow) and some other (Vital Source, Red) for actual health-recovery limit.
- Mana Meter: Magic Circuits, 0 to 300%, or 200% if playing Actress Once again and using the One-half-Moon Style. Used for special shielding, EX Specials, Shield bunkering, and combos. Tin can also recover wellness (up to the limit mentioned above).
- Accuse Meter: certain attacks and some specials can be charged. In the game terminology these are chosen "Blowback Edges" but are ordinarily only referred to as charged attacks.
Information technology has incorporated many features from other Fighting Games; clashing (ii attacks striking and cancel each other), cancelling (cancel 1 move into another), shielding and EX-Shielding (the latter allows for a riposte at toll of the Magic Circuit). Regular combos tin can be powered up by using the Magic Circuit. Specials fabricated during Heat or Blood Rut Mode (when Magic Circuit is high) are called Arc Drives. Counters fabricated during Blood Rut are called Last Arcs that look very cool and deal a ton of damage with some causing Circuit Break to the opponent (cocky-explanatory).

A tourney-centric fansite exists for western fans in the form of Melty Bread
For blood that really melts things, meet Bloody Murder.
These games provide examples of:
- All But a Dream: Hisui's route in Human activity Cadenza.
- All In that location in the Manual: Every game assumes you have played the original visual novels likewise as any previous iterations.
- This kind of gets thrown away equally of Human action Cadenza though, whose Arcade mode stories don't necktie in to the original visual novels the mode information technology did in the original Melty Blood or Re-ACT.
- Exclusively Evil: Wallachia, until his Final Speech communication.
- Anti-Villain: Even though he is an Ax Crazy vampire, Walachia's ultimate goal was to somehow prevent The End of the World as We Know It that volition occur in the future.
- Assault of the 50-Foot Whatever: G Akiha nuff' said.
- Awesomeness By Analysis: Sion does this past turning her brain into a supercomputer (massively parallel processing).
- To be more than specific, given her explanation, she's capable of up to 18.446 quintillion parallel processes, which is double the limit of a modernistic day 64-scrap CPU.
- Ax Crazy: Wallachia, especially notable during his Arc-Drive where he constantly screams "katto" ("cut"), which makes him audio like a slasher flick.
- Understandable, since he looks like a slasher picture.
- Badass Blood Knight: Shiki Nanaya.
- Axle Spam: Aoko Aozaki'south magecraft. I particularly impressive Arc Bulldoze has her launching them off both her fists and her leg in midair.
- AYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA
- Beware the Dainty Ones: Arcueid, Satsuki, Hisui, and Kohaku.
- Don't forget the protagonist, Shiki. The guy practically embodies the "overnice guy protagonist" archtype.
- BFG: The pile bunker that is Ciel'due south Seventh Holy Scripture. Non exactly a gun, simply information technology sounds like one.
- Large Bad: Wallachia in the first story, White Len in the second (With Aoko equally True Final Boss), and Dust of Osiris in the third.
- Biological Mashup with Mix-and-Match Critters: The whole existence of Nero/Nrvnqsr Chaos, whose body is made of anarchy and consists of 666 beasts, who share consciousness with him.
- Claret Bath: Vampire Sion's catastrophe in Actress Again. She defeats pretty much everybody, including Osiris. The ending CG shows her bathing in claret, completely naked, and her eyes glow red.
- Claret From the Rima oris: Wallachia gets into such bloodthirsty frenzies that he drinks too much and information technology starts flowing out of every orifice.
- Blown Beyond The Screen: Any especially strong assault.
- Bowdlerise: Later installments for the series dropped the claret splash upshot some attacks inflicted on the opponents, such as Shiki Tohno and Shiki Nanaya's Arc Drives, and specific attacks from other characters as well.
- Only Now I Must Go: Several endings in the first story cease with Sion leaving the boondocks for various reasons.
- Commenting On Your Attacks
- (Literal) Cat Fight: Whenever any of the Neco are involved. Likewise Len, who can turn into a cat.
- Canon Immigrant: It has been announced that Shiki Ryogi will be in Extra Again, despite Give-and-take of God saying they were in divide continuities. But and so, Nasuverse continuity is a funny matter.
- Justified Trope: She really is from an Alternate Universe, it's just that she gets pulled into the Melty Blood verse by Classic Earth.
- Catgirl: Len. Made from the corpse of a kitten and the soul of a dead niggling girl, she concluded up equally true cat and daughter. Too, White Len, who mirrors Len's existence.
- Catch Phrase: Earlier, during, and after matches, characters will recite both original lines and those from previous games (the top of the Tsukihime entry has one).
- Chick Magnet: The Tohno Gland: works on every single potential female person protagonist, ever. Except, evidently, Ryougi, who isn't impressed.
| Shiki Ryougi: Yous're my senior when information technology comes to these optics, lady-killer. (victory quote over Shiki Tohno) |
|
-
- Considering she already fell for a Tohno Shiki expect-akin: Mikiya Kokuto. They have a daughter.
- Not to mention that Tohno Shiki and Mikiya Kokuto are not simply identical in appearance but are also very like in personality and in power to concenter women. If Mikiya did not be, given enough time I'm willing to bet that the Tohno/Nanaya gland would had work its charms. Granted, Mikiya had to really push to proceeds Ryougi's favor, something that Tohno may not be willing to do since he'southward already got a harem, one that would kill him for bringing in withal another woman.
- (Faux) Chinese Girl: Miyako, whose kung fu gets an insane boost because of Wallachia.
- Combination Assail: Hisui and Kohaku (when used together), Sion's Last Arc (with the "ghost" of another character), Wallachia's Arc Bulldoze (with doppelgangers of diverse characters appearing for simply an instant to hit the opponent).
- Actress Again adds teams of Kohaku & Mech-Hisui and Mech-Hisui and Neco-Arc.
- Combos
- Comic Volume Adaptation: A manga is being written based off this game. Different the Tsukihime anime adaptation, this is more of Adaptation Distillation. Information technology condenses the plot and characters together in an first-class mode. Also replaces the fight against Nero/Nrvnqsr that happened in the original game every bit a sign that Tatari is gaining ability with with an excellent Tear Jerker of an arc in which Tatari takes the form of Satsuki.
- Did well enough to become a second flavor which is... well, you could however call it a distillation, merely this time what it's distilling is all the ridiculously insane parts of the games, similar Mecha-Hisui and that sort of thing. It's... interesting.
- Cool and Unusual Penalisation: In the manga, Akiha's punishment for Kohaku attempting to have over the Tohno mansion (and wiping out the Tohno family'due south fortune in the process of mass-producing her Mecha-Hisui army) is to invite everyone to a beach political party - and Kohaku isn't allowed to alter out of her heavy kimono and apron. She collapses approximately halfway through the mean solar day.
- Absurd Versus Awesome: Ryougi'south ending against a fully powered Archetype Earth; a.1000.a. "Princess Arcueid."
| "RS: ........! What is this aura!? You mean I got the wrong ane!? |
|
We don't know what happens next.
- Crossover: Shiki Ryogi in the console version of Actress Once again. Taking bets on how many ports/releases it takes for Saber to detect her manner in.
- Despite the fact that Fate and Tsukihime takes place in the same universe while Kara No Kyoukai takes place in a unlike one, its less likely for a Fate/Tsukihime cantankerous over due to how distinctive the ii franchise are. Not to mention the power level flame war that it would cause. "Fate/Tiger Colosseum Upper" did have some Tsukihime gag character cross-overs so its possible.
- Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Shiki Tohno, once more. The guy really just loves living.
- Crowning Music of Awesome: Shiki Ryougi's Theme in Actress Again, which is a remix of a song from the Kara no Kyoukai: anime.
- Cursed with Awesome: Information technology's easier to listing the characters who aren't.
- Mystic Eyes of Death Perception: horrible headaches, shortened life, death with frequent use. And then again, can destroy anything that exists under Gaia.
- Originally for Shiki Tohno, stock-still for him subsequently on for gameplay reasons. Ryougi seems to take no problems with information technology...because their eyes don't have the exact aforementioned source.
- Vampirism: changes your soul, slowly kills your measly human being trunk, undying thirst for claret. Then again, superhuman forcefulness, perception, agility, and immortality (as long every bit you lot drinkable blood).
- Mystic Eyes of Death Perception: horrible headaches, shortened life, death with frequent use. And then again, can destroy anything that exists under Gaia.
- Expressionless to Begin With: Only Satsuki, really, as the undead form of vampire. Arcueid is a True Antecedent -- a grade of vampire that isn't undead. Len'southward non so much undead every bit half-alive, due to her artificial creation from expressionless things.
- And don't forget Sion. Or Riesbyfe.
- Death Is Dramatic
- Defeat Means Friendship: Sion and Shiki, Sion and Akiha (generally more and so when Sion loses).
- Demoted to Extra:
- Satsuki wasn't even in the original game, despite the story allegedly following her non-existent route. Even when she was introduced into the games as of Re-Human activity, she's still not on Shiki's romance radar. And in the Manga Accommodation, it's not Sacchin at all, but just a Tatari avatar.
- Despite being the villain of Tsukihime, Roa (who amusingly is half-responsible for Satsuki's vampirism) doesn't appear until Actress Again. The other guy, SHIKI Tohno hasn't appeared at all. Isn't it sad, Capslock-kun?
- Different As Night and Day: Hisui and Kohaku (twins).
- Doppelganger: Lots of 'em.
- Evil Counterpart Within: The entire bespeak of characters like Nanaya Shiki, Sion Tatari, Scarlet Arcueid (Warcueid), and White Len. Many of them physically manifest due to Wallachia'due south (and later, White Len'due south) power.
- Shiki Nanaya: what Shiki Tohno would have go -- an amoral, assassin-of-demons who loves his chore.
- The Nanaya Shiki shown in Melty Blood and Kagetsu Tohya is not "what Shiki would take become," information technology is simply the manifestation of his fear of what he might get and can be a completely irrational grapheme since fears tin be irrational. Even had he been raised as a Nanaya, he most likely would had simply been an assassin who kills because its his task and not because he'south sadistic. Even that is unlikely since his father did not want that kind of life for him.
- Red Arcueid: Arcueid if she gave in to her bloodlust, using her normally-restrained powers to kill.
- Classic Earth. The Full power of Arcueid Brunestud; non given in to only bloodlust only equally a copy of the Red Moon itself. Every bit in, the original vampire template.
- Akiha Vermilion: Aforementioned deal equally Red Arcueid - Akiha Vermilion has lost pretty much all of her humanity.
- Sion Tatari: Sion if she completely becomes the side by side Tatari. This is treated as an "Alternate Continuity" character. Sion Tatari and "Good" Sion as playables don't be in the same timeline. And the Dust of Osirus is a third Sion.
- Shiki Nanaya: what Shiki Tohno would have go -- an amoral, assassin-of-demons who loves his chore.
- Enemy Without: This is basically the point of the Tatari's ability in the games.
- Subverted at 1 betoken. Tatari tin crusade the manifestation of all the above-listed evil counterparts, and starting in Re-Act, they all take a story mode...all but ane, that is. White Len is immensely surprised when she realizes that the Vermillion Akiha who approaches her is, in fact, Akiha herself.
- Also a rather funny moment when Vermillion Akiha confronts Aozaki Aoko... and they both pause and offset muttering about how they look merely similar each other.
- Evil Eye: Shiki Tohno's Mystic Eyes of Death Perception that can see the "concept of expiry" on anything. His Arc Drives shatter the entire screen.
- Evil Feels Good and Cool: Shiki Nanaya.
- Evil Laugh: Type C (the psycho variety), courtesy of Wallachia. Pretty much anything he says somewhen devolves into insane rambling.
- Eye Beams: Mech Hisui (in addition to several other Homages to Humongous Mecha).
- Neco-Arc and Neco-Arc Chaos (Shinso Beam and Chaos Beam, respectively).
- Optics Ever Shut: Wallachia (because they're pools of claret).
- Neco-Arc Chaos, which makes his Center Beams that much stranger.
- Last Spoken communication: The further you get into the (starting time) story, the longer the defeated tends to talk.
- Finishing Motion: Using an Arc Drive or Last Arc to end will give a special message, zero else.
- Wink Step: The superhuman characters tin can teleport. Nanaya simply moves besides fast to come across.
- Fragile Speedster: Miyako.
- Time to come Badass: The Grit of Osirus is a clone of Sion who became the Tatari.
- Genki Daughter: Miyako, Kohaku.
- Glass Cannon: Vermillion Akiha has insanely powerful attacks, merely the second lowest defense in the game. The only character lower is Neco-Arc Chaos. Ironically, normal Akiha has the second HIGHEST defense in the game -- the only character who's college is the horribly-broken Classic World (at least before Current Lawmaking).
- Gratuitous English: Just wait at the name. Information technology gets worse, naturally.
- The names refer to the Tatari'south habit of referring to everything it does in stage terminology.
- Guest Fighter: Shiki Ryougi.
- Half-Human Hybrid: Akiha Tohno/Vermilion Akiha, Kouma Kishima.
- Arguably, Len, due to being part homo and role cat. White Len is fifty-fifty a Tri-hybrid, of a human being girl, a cat, and TATARI.
- Hammerspace: Many, including Ciel, who tin can throw dozens of swords without a break, Mech-Hisui with tools like a flamethrower, Sion with an unlimited amount of ammo and most notably Hisui who has exploding bentos, chairs, an always filled watering can, a bucket full of water, several cooking tools (including pans, ladles and a wok) fifty-fifty though she tin can't cook, and a...table.
- Don't forget This Chair. This Chair. This Chair. This Chair...
- Homage: Several to scenes in Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tohya (and Kara no Kyoukai: in Actress Again):
- Shiki Tohno's Arc Drive, the Seventeen Piece Dissection, is an homage to how Shiki cuts Arcueid into seventeen pieces in their commencement meeting. His quote during his Last Arc is the exact same as what he said when he defeated Roa in Arcueid's route of Tsukihime.
- Arcueid'south Last Arc, when used against Shiki, volition striking exactly 18 times; a revenge for his "17 Dissection" of her in the commencement of Tsukihime.
- Hisui's Last Arc is a jab at the numerous grammer mistakes she made in the original Tsukihime, including the famous "You volition be the criminal". Her Arc Drive is a more badass version of the ridiculous-looking attack she uses in "Omogirisou" in Kagetsu Tohya.
- Every bit for special moves, her picnic dejeuner explosive trap is plum sandwiches. She can likewise pull out the Chair. Yes, that chair. That chair. That chair. That chair. That chair. That chair. That chair. That chair...
- Shiki Nanaya'due south Last Arc is the exact same motion that he uses against Shiki Tohno in Kagetsu Tohya (he throws his knife at the heart, and simultaneously spring over their head and break their neck).
- Satsuki's Arc Bulldoze does actress damage against Shiki Tohno (and Shiki Nanaya) as revenge for failing to protect her in Tsukihime - despite information technology having been out of his power to do and then at the time. To emphasize the point, her Arc Bulldoze ends with her screaming "BAKA!" ("idiot!") to the person on the receiving end, only changes to "USOTSUKI!" ("liar!") against both Shikis.
- Kohaku's Arc Drive involves a quick modify into the Chinese dress and accent she cosplays in during Kagetsu Tohya.
- For Shiki Ryougi:
- Her leitmotif makes it into her stage in Extra Again, which is titled "...and nothing eye" (the subtitle of the second chapter and flick).
- Some of her moves are taken from the movies (the jump and upside-downwardly spin knifing the enemy in the head is from the first movie against 1 of the ghosts; the throw is from the third pic against Asagami Fujino (with the addition of a stab), and her Concluding Arc is from the fifth movie with the appearance of a katana-wielding Void!Shiki). And speaking of that Last Arc, it is a Ane-Hit Kill confronting you if y'all're in Oestrus or Blood Heat. Not then when y'all got hitting? Well then, become into Heat or Blood Heat later in the round and see your HP get tuckered to i point. Truly a god-killing technique.
- Actually this is a bug - this got massively nerfed and fixed in Actress Again Current Code. Although who know when that'll hit PC... if ever.
- Some of her lines come up from the movies. The about awesome came from the 3rd film (where she says that she could kill anything that exists, fifty-fifty a god), which she repeats in the end of her story mode in Extra Once more confronting Archetype Earth.
- Finally (though possibly a coincidence), this video shows a palette-swapped Ryougi. Why hello there, Lio.
- Also already in Human action Cadenza: Aoko tells the enemy in one of her winning quotes to beat upwards a teacher-similar, smoking adult female, who uses her proper noun to go coin from the Association.
- In the first game we got this. A homage to a scene in Kagetsu Tohya in which Arcueid stole Ciel's lunch, resulting in a fist fight between the two in which they knocked each other out.
- Horny Devils: Len and White Len, which ups the Squick since they both look almost twelve.
- Joke Character: Neco-Arc, the adorable super-deformed cat-eared Arcueid. Neco-Arc Chaos, the aforementioned thing for Nrvnqsr Chaos, except not as adorable, smoking a cigarette, and swearing quite a bit.
- And in terms of the story, there are several instances of Satsuki and White Len trying difficult not to become a "gag character."
- Knife Nut: Shiki Tohno and Shiki Nanaya.
- And Shiki Ryougi. Ciel can also qualify.
- Large Ham: Neco-Arc Chaos' vocalization acting. JYAN JYA JYANNNNNN~
- Neco-Arc Anarchy' voice histrion is Jyouji Nakata, who has a very extensive resume of hammy villains. Including Nrvnqsr Chaos himself.
- Leitmotif: Every character has their ain stage, which is tied to a specific theme vocal.
- Lethal Joke Character: Neco-Arc, Neco-Arc Chaos. Likewise, the non-combative characters in the original games -- the twin maids, for example -- are given comedic moves (most of Hisui's are tied to her cleaning of the mansion.
- Love Hurts Less: Archetype:Earth's Last Arc (pre-Current Code) is pretty much a guaranteed KO for any opponent. Any, that is, except for Tohno Shiki. When against Shiki as the opponent, her Last Arc does significantly less harm than usual, but cutting effectually a quarter of his wellness.
- Meaningful Name: Wallachia is a vampire. The real globe Wallachia was a small country (now part of Romania) from whence Vlad the Impaler, the man Dracula is based on, came from.
- Mirror Match: Lampshaded in Melty Blood Re-Human activity by Ciel and Arcueid in Arcueid'south story manner amidst others.
| Arcueid: Look who it is. Are you lot the existent one? |
|
- Ninja Maid: Kohaku and Hisui (thank you to Wallachia's reality-warping; they are otherwise total non-combatants).
- No Pronunciation Guide: Nrvnqsr??
- It's pronounced 'Nero'. The weird spelling is because those messages correspond to the Hebrew numbering organization and they add up to 666.
- Not Then Different: What Walachia tells Sion when Shiki and her confront him. He tells her that they cannot live without taking something from others, information for Sion and Blood for Walachia. This causes her to freak out and allow her Super-Powered Evil Side to take over, and Walachia lets her loose on Shiki.
- Odd Couple: Shiki and Arcueid (a Canon pairing.)
- Odd Friendship: Satsuki and Sion (tragic vampires unite!). Now with Riesbyfe-brand Spirit Church Knight goodness!
- Ojou: Akiha.
- Akiha fifty-fifty has an assault, consisting of her crossing her arms and button-kicking her opponent, nicknamed "Gangster Princess Kick" by fans.
- Ryougi Shiki can qualify besides.
- One Steve Limit: Subverted hard. As of Melty Blood: Actress Again, in that location are at least three Shikis.
- Also, two Sions, (technically) two Lens, 2 Arcueids, three Akihas, and depending on your interpretation, the Neko versions of Arcueid and Nero Anarchy may too count, as well as Mech-Hisui existence based off Hisui. Plus the 17th and 18th incarnations of Roa may likewise count... And as of version 1.05, there is now some other Ciel which is essentially a playable version of Executioner Ciel from Re-Human activity.
- Just Mostly Expressionless: Characters defeated in Story Mode are never actually dead. Except the bad guys.
- Our Vampires Are Different
- Recurring Riff: Aoko's theme is an instrumental stone remix of the original game'due south main theme song.
- Ciel'south new phase in Actress Once again is yet another remix of the very aforementioned theme, but this time with a (naturally) Ominous Latin Chanting motif to it.
- Retcon: Nero/Nrvnqsr Chaos as the dominate of the first game was subsequently retconned to be a Tatari Avatar.
- Then over again, a fair bit of stuff was retconned when they did Re-Human action.
- Ryu and Ken: Several pairs, though each have a varied moveset.
- Shout-Out: Neko-Arc Chaos' Last Arc involves dropping a giant Kaleidostick (from Fate/hollow ataraxia) on the opponent. Neko-Arc'south Concluding Arc does the aforementioned, just with fricking Nasu's mushroom avatar instead.
- Giant Akiha is one bigass shoutout to Apocalypse as encountered in Marvel Superheroes vs. Street Fighter, complete with Eye Beams, drill set on, her onscreen appearance consisting only of one arm and upper torso... The merely gameplay difference is that she can turn to face either direction, as opposed to Apocalypse, who was easy pickings in one case you got backside him.
- Getting there is some other story entirely. GIANT UPPER!!!!!
- From the All Around TYPE-MOON drama CD comes Ryougi calling Arcueid "stupid woman" in her victory quote, as well as "This is the answer -de gozaru!" after a Last Arc Finish.
- Sliding Calibration of Silliness Versus Seriousness: Within the same game, there's two "modes" of reality. Ane is completely serious, the grimdark world of Tsukihime and all. The other has super deformed catgirls and catboys, mecha-maids, Magical Amber, and Giant Akiha. Satsuki has to put upward with both.
- In fact, information technology has gone and so out of command that there are two manga adaptations : Melty Blood, that puts upward with the Sion/Wallachia serious storyline, and Melty Blood Human activity Two, which follows the raw silliness of Miyako and Kohaku's antics.
- SNK Boss: Certain not-playable characters verge on this (Executioner Ciel, Thou-Akiha, etc...)
- Mech-Hisui, only that's namely due to her playstyle.
- Archetype World pre-Current Code definitely qualifies with insane frame advantage, high damage output and defense, an exclusive Moon Style (Eclipse) which allows her to Circuit Spark even if she'due south not in Max Mode and automatically refills her Magic Circuit gauge and not to mention her damn infinite philharmonic. Largely why she's banned in tournament play.
- Super-Deformed: Neco-Arc and Neco-Arc Chaos.
- Super-Powered Evil Side: Vermilion Akiha and Sion Tatari. Also, see Enemy Within above.
- Suspiciously Similar Substitute: In terms of function, White Len for Wallachia in Act Cadenza; they are very different otherwise.
- Techno Babble: Sion with the Etherlite in the storyline.
- Wouldn't information technology be Magi Babble?
- The Atlas Alchemists blur the line, somewhat.
- Wouldn't information technology be Magi Babble?
- Fourth dimension Travel: The first Tatari is Nigh Invulnerable unless his Curse Escape Clause is met. The Cherry Moon shines downward on him. Since this won't happen until 1000 years or then; Arcueid reaches forward in time and pulls the moon temporarily to the present; so that Shiki or Sion can destroy him permanently.
- This leads to the events of Actress Again in the alternate time to come that Arcueid pulled the moon from; humanity died and simply the Grit Of Osiris was left. She follows the moon to the present and decides she'll end the world now .
- Championship Driblet: Arcueid'southward Blood Heat Arc Bulldoze is called "Melty Blood." Though Arc is the principal heroine of the franchise, Sion is technically the main heroine of this spin-off, not that it really matters given the nature of this game.
- Too Spicy for Yog-Sothoth: In Nero Chao'southward win quote against Kohaku, he tells her he will spare her life and she should get out. It really has to mean something if the embodiment of anarchy, who usually eats and devours his victims, tells you to exit because his beasts have trouble dealing with you.
- Tournament Play: Popular with arcade and PC versions. Was part of the Super Battle Opera tournament lineup in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010 and Evo 2010, and is considered one of the most balanced 2D fighters ever made.
- Tragic Dream
- Tsundere: Akiha, White Len. Sion probably counts as well towards Shiki at times.
- Unexpected Gameplay Change: In Current Code, playing as Archetype Earth through the arcade mode will pit you against 10 stages instead of the usual ix. Also, on the terminal stage, y'all all of a sudden get to command Arcueid, fighting Archetype Earth as the final dominate.
- Vampire Refugee: Sion is actively looking to reverse her vampirism, and despite her Super-Powered Evil Side; does manage to handle about of the symptoms quite well in her "good" storyline; though Arcueid says an outright "cure" is incommunicable.
- Sion falls and falls hard in her "V. Sion" story branch.
- Vampire Sion'south summons in-game are actually her friends and are "good" (Riesbyfe, Arcueid, Akiha, Satsuki, Ciel), as opposed to Wallachia'southward summons of Tatari "villains" (Cherry-red Arcueid, Nero Chaos, Shiki Nanaya and Vermillion Akiha).
- Violently Protective Girlfriend: Archetype World!Arcueid. Although her 'girlfriend' status is questionable, when Ryougi Shiki kills Tohno Shiki at the end of her story route in Actress Once again, the commutation below occurs. Despite the fact that Archetype Earth claims not to have anything resembling sentimentality, the sight of Tohno's corpse is enough for her to have the want to kill Ryougi.
| Archetype World: Looking at those battered limbs, an awful grinning comes over me. Therefore, I am willing to buy into this challenge. |
|
- Wall Bound: Ciel, who tin then throw a projectile or go for a kick.
- Moving ridge Motion Gun: Sion'southward Black Barrel Replica, which is a lesser re-create of the Eldritch Anathema fighting weapon from Affections Notes.
- Aoko has wave motion finger.
- Weirdness Censor: Inverted. People noticing strangeness that isn't at that place really causes the Big Bad to appear. Information technology would be hard to explain.
- Writers Cannot Do Math: Despite being called Seventeen Slice Dissection, Shiki'due south Another Arc Bulldoze hits seventeen times. Go along, attempt cutting something seventeen times and come across how many pieces you become.
- If you tin't figure it out, the corporeality of pieces yous get for every cut is the amount of cuts plus 1. So seventeen cuts would actually exit eighteen pieces. And that's assuming Shiki just cuts one piece per slice. Because how fast the move is, and the fact that Shiki is in the end only homo, information technology's extremely likely he's cut more than i piece at a fourth dimension.
- Xanatos Roulette: Horrifyingly deconstructed with the Alchemists. Through training, Alchemists have the mental capacity to programme every possible consequence for a state of affairs. Only one time they go good enough at this, they realize all paths through history inevitably lead to the destruction of humanity and the planet itself, and are driven to despair and complete insanity by the fact that they can't plan a manner out of information technology.
- Yous Will Be Spared: During Archetype World's story mode, she decides on a whim to try destroying the planet and everyone on it merely to see what information technology's like. Before she does so, she promises that she'll spare the lives of two people - the start is, obviously, Shiki, and second is her sort-of-enemy sort-of-friend Ciel.
